Market strategy & meaning
Hyundai sees a growing EV market in Turkey: the electrical quote recently increased significantly, charging infrastructure and secondary market grow. With local production, Hyundai wants to tighten and ensure Europe -wide supply capacities - Turkey would thus become an important pillar of the electrification strategy.
Brief evaluation
The decision is strategic: Local production for Europe can improve costs, logistics and CO₂ balance sheet and strengthens Hyundai's position in the growing European e-market. At the same time, it remains to be seen how quickly the production conversion will be implemented and which models run out of the assembly line.
