Škoda testet neues Elektro-SUV Elroq

ŠKODA recently presented the new Elektro SUV Elroq in silhouette. The ElroQ is the first model of the brand to use the “Modern Solid” design language and will soon be coming to the exhibition rooms. Prototypes of the compact electric SUV are currently on the Nürburgring and there are first photos of the test drives.

The strongly camouflaged prototypes show a hidden version of the new "Tech-Deck" cooler grille, which is part of the "Modern Solid" look. The surrounding LED headlights and a large lower air inlet are also striking. The body is reminiscent of the current Karoq model, as indicated in a preview last year.

Oliver Stefani, Head of Design at ŠKODA, emphasizes the importance of design for brand identity: “Design plays an important role in ŠKODA's brand identity and is one of the main factors of our success. The continuous further development of visual key elements is an equally challenging and exciting task. For this reason, my team and I are particularly happy to preview the first ŠKODA model according to the new design language Modern Solid with a tech deck face and a generally robust appearance admit."

The approximately 4.5 meter long ElroQ is developed as the third ŠKODA model based on the modular electrification kit (MEB) of the Volkswagen Group. He follows the current Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé e-cars. The ElroQ, as an electric counterpart to the Karoq, marks the beginning of a new e-mobility campaign from ŠKODA, which provides for six new battery models in the coming years.

ŠKODA promises that the new compact electric SUV will offer a spacious interior and considerable practicality in order to meet the high demands of the brand of comfort and functionality. The world premiere of the Elroq is planned for autumn 2024.
