By default, the 13-pin socket of the trailer coupling is directed downwards in the Model 3, which severely limits the ground clearance when the cable is plugged in. Our angle adapter ensures that the cable protrudes backwards and the ground clearance remains almost the same. For example, if you drive backwards to the supercharger with a bike rack, the cable otherwise grinds over the bottom threshold and will be damaged in the long run. The same thing happens when driving over bottom thresholds or on uneven terrain.
The adapter is made of plastic and is very robust. The pin assignment is identical to that of the vehicle.

Der Winkeladapter ist eine große Erleichterung, um einen Anhänger oder Fahrradträger elektrisch mit dem Auto zu verbinden. Die Anbringung ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, da man den Adapter zuerst mit Kraft einstecken muss und dann durch Drehen der Haltevorrichtung befestigen. Das ganze Problem liegt aber an der katastrophal schlechten Ingenieursleistung von Tesla. So konstruiert man keine Anhängerkupplung!
