The BMW IX3 rolls in the new BMW Group plant at the end of October Debrecen In a series-built in a fully digitized, low-CO₂ factory according to the IFACTORY principle. Debrecen relies on smart processes, renewable energy and local battery production so that you will get an IX3 e SUV in the future that is not only modern, but also more sustainable.
ifactory: digitally from the start
The Debrecen plant was planned virtually and tested in advance as a digital twin. Production lines, process steps and even the positioning of the approximately 1,000 robots have been simulated beforehand so that real production can start efficiently and lean. The goal: less complexity, fewer joining methods, faster start -up - and a stable value flow from the press plant to assembly.
Sustainability & energy concept
DebRecen drives largely without fossil fuels: a large photovoltaic system on the factory premises delivers a quarter of the electricity requirement, excess energy is buffered in a thermal memory. The paint shop works with electricity from renewable sources and a heat grid for energy recovery-this drastically reduces the CO₂ emissions of the work. With full load, the SCOPE-1/2 emissions of production per vehicle decrease significantly (work information).
Battery production & quality
The first work is the first work to manufacture the gene6 high-voltage battery in series-according to the principle "Local for Local". AI-based quality systems such as AIQX monitor assembly and end-of-line checks in real time, inline tests aim at a zero error approach. Autonomously moving route trains and smart transport robots ensure short distances and efficient in-house logistics.
What that means for you
For customers, this means: an IX3 whose production is digitally secured, energy -efficient and locally networked. You benefit from optimized component structures (e.g. more space for the battery) and a production that is designed for quality and sustainability - plus faster integration of future innovations from the "new class".
Conclusion
The production start of the BMW IX3 in the Debrecen plant is more than a factory start: it is a technology and sustainability promise. Debrecen shows how digitized processes, local battery production and renewable energy work together to enable more efficient, climate -friendly vehicle production.
