VW senkt Preise für alle ID.3-Modelle: Schritt zur Absatzsteigerung

Volkswagen has once again reduced the prices for his ID.3 models to boost the sales of its electric cars. After the entry price for the basic model ID.3 Pure has already been reduced, the other variants now benefit from a price adjustment. This could be the key to increase the sales figures and reach the EU's ambitious CO2 goals.

Price reduction for all ID.3 models

In a strategic step, Volkswagen decided to reduce the prices for all variants of ID.3 for 3,000 euros net. This measure not only affects the entry -level model, but all versions of the popular electric vehicle. The ID.3 Pure, which is equipped with a smaller battery, is now offered for less than 30,000 euros - including an environmental bonus that applies until the end of the year.

The new prices at an overview:

  • Id.3 Pure (with 45 kWh battery): 29,760 euros (previously 33,330 euros)
  • Id.3 Pro (with 59 kWh battery): 36,425 euros (previously 39,995 euros)
  • Id.3 Pro S (with 77 kWh battery): 44,025 euros (previously 47,595 euros)
  • ID.3 GTX (with 79 kWh battery): 47,225 euros (previously 50,795 euros)
  • ID.3 GTX Performance (with 79 kWh battery): 48,725 euros (previously 52,295 euros)

Why these price cuts?

The latest price reductions at VW could be due to several factors. On the one hand, VW states that internal cost optimizations have made this measure possible. However, it can be assumed that the growing competition on the electric car market and the pressure to meet the EU CO2 requirements play a central role.

CO2 goals as the driver of the decision

From 2025, stricter CO2 goals for the automotive industry will come into force in the EU. Until then, manufacturers such as Volkswagen have to significantly increase the proportion of their electric vehicles in order to avoid fines. For Volkswagen, this means significantly increasing the market share of their fully electric vehicles. The ID.3 models play a key role because they could help VW to achieve the statutory quotas.

The vehicles that have now been ordered are mostly delivered only in 2024 and thus contribute to the CO2 record of VW in 2025. The VW Group's electric car share is currently below the 25 percent sought, which increases the pressure to act.

Conclusion: a real step at the right time?

With the price reduction for ID.3, Volkswagen sets a clear sign that they are ready to take the lead on the hard -fought electric car market. For consumers, this could be the ideal time to switch to a fully electric vehicle and at the same time benefit from attractive discounts. The coming months will show whether VW can increase its sales with this measure and reach CO2 goals.
